OUR SERVICES

Therapy that meets your family where you are.

Every young person is different, and cookie-cutter approaches do not work. We offer multiple evidence-based therapies, each tailored to your child’s age, temperament, and unique challenges. From the playroom to the brain lab, we find the path that fits.

WHO WE HELP

Specialized support for every stage

We built our practice around young people and the families who love them. Every therapist, every tool, every session is designed with their world in mind.

Ages 4-12

Kids

Young children communicate through play and behavior. Our therapists meet them where they are with play therapy, creative expression, and gentle guidance that helps them process big feelings in age-appropriate ways.

Ages 13-17

Teens

Adolescence brings anxiety, identity questions, social pressure, and emotional intensity. Our therapists specialize in the teen experience and create a confidential space where teens feel heard without judgment.

Ages 18-25

Young Adults

Navigating college, careers, relationships, and identity can feel overwhelming. We help young adults build resilience, develop self-awareness, and find clarity during some of life's most pivotal transitions.

All ages

Parents

When your child is struggling, you are too. Parent coaching gives you practical strategies, emotional support, and the confidence to be the parent your family needs. Neurofeedback is also available for parents seeking brain-based support. Available alongside your child's therapy or on its own.

Play Therapy

Young children often lack the vocabulary to describe what they are feeling. They cannot sit across from an adult and articulate that they are anxious about their parents’ divorce or overwhelmed by a new school. But put them in a room full of carefully chosen toys, art supplies, and creative materials, and they will show you everything.

Our play therapists create a safe, nonjudgmental space where children lead the session. Through play, children process difficult experiences, practice new behaviors, develop emotional regulation skills, and build confidence. Parents frequently report that their child becomes calmer, more communicative, and better able to handle frustration after beginning play therapy.

What to expect

  • Child-led sessions in a purpose-built play therapy room
  • Effective for anxiety, behavioral issues, grief, and trauma
  • Regular parent updates and at-home support guidance
  • Helps children build emotional vocabulary and coping skills

Teen & Young Adult Counseling

Adolescence and young adulthood are defined by change. Bodies change, friendships shift, expectations multiply, and the pressure to perform academically, socially, and personally can become suffocating. Add social media, global uncertainty, and the constant comparison culture, and it is no wonder so many teens and young adults feel anxious, lost, or overwhelmed.

Our therapists specialize exclusively in this age group. We understand the difference between a 14-year-old navigating middle school drama and a 22-year-old questioning their career path, and we adjust our approach accordingly. Clients are met with genuine empathy and practical tools, not lectures or generic advice.

What to expect

  • Therapists who specialize exclusively in teens and young adults
  • Evidence-based CBT and solution-focused techniques
  • Addresses anxiety, depression, identity, and relationship issues
  • Confidential space free from parental pressure or judgment

CBT & Narrative Therapy

Two of the most effective therapeutic approaches for young people are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Narrative Therapy, and our clinicians are trained in both.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is built on a straightforward principle: the way we think affects the way we feel, which affects the way we behave. When a teenager believes they are going to fail, they feel anxious, and they avoid studying, which creates the exact outcome they feared. CBT helps clients identify these patterns, challenge the thoughts that fuel them, and build healthier mental habits. It is one of the most researched and effective treatments for anxiety, depression, and behavioral issues in young people.

What to expect

  • CBT for identifying and reshaping unhelpful thought patterns
  • Narrative Therapy for rewriting limiting self-stories
  • Evidence-based approaches with strong research backing
  • Practical skills clients use in daily life outside sessions

Neurofeedback

Neurofeedback is brain training. It uses real-time monitoring of brainwave activity to teach the brain to function more efficiently, and it does so without medication, without side effects, and without requiring clients to talk about their feelings.

At NeuroNook, our in-house neurofeedback center, every client begins with a QEEG (Quantitative Electroencephalogram) brain map. This painless assessment captures detailed data about how your brain is performing across multiple regions and frequencies. The result is an objective picture of what is happening neurologically, which areas are overactive, underactive, or poorly regulated.

What to expect

  • QEEG brain mapping for objective, data-driven assessment
  • Non-invasive, medication-free brain training
  • Personalized training protocol based on your brain map
  • Effective for ADHD, anxiety, emotional regulation, and sleep

Parent Coaching

When your child is struggling, you are struggling too. You second-guess every decision, argue with your partner about the right approach, read every article, and still feel like nothing is working. Parent coaching is designed for exactly this moment.

This is not parenting classes with generic tips. Parent coaching at The Loft is individualized, practical, and grounded in the same therapeutic expertise we bring to our work with kids and teens. We help you understand what is driving your child’s behavior, develop strategies that fit your family’s unique dynamics, communicate more effectively with your child, manage your own stress and frustration, coordinate with schools and other providers, and rebuild confidence in your parenting instincts.

What to expect

  • Individualized strategies, not generic parenting tips
  • Understand the root causes of your child’s behavior
  • Available alongside child therapy or independently
  • In-person and virtual sessions for flexibility

College Readiness + Support

College removes the structure students have relied on and replaces it with independence, pressure, and constant demand. Most students are expected to manage their time, workload, and stress without ever being taught how. College Coaching at The Loft helps students build the systems and habits they need to stay organized, follow through, and handle challenges as they come. This relationship can start before move-in and continue through the college years, providing steady support as expectations increase and life becomes more complex.

Starting before move-in and continuing through the college years, students build the skills needed to manage their time, responsibilities, and stress in a sustainable way. The goal is not short-term fixes, but steady growth and consistency.

What to expect

  • Support starting before move-in and continuing through college
  • Time management, organization, and follow-through skills
  • Stress management and sustainable habits
  • Focused on steady growth, not short-term fixes
